The award season is in full swing with every magazine and television channel worth its name hosting high octane awards. The red carpet has been ablaze with a bevy of beauties sporting glamorous red carpet looks that are at once splendid and stunning. However, one of the most worn looks this season has been a classic gold eye with a deep wine lip. This combination is universally flattering and superbly stylish. And the best part, its a look that works well with most outfits. Heres how you too can create your own red carpet glam look fit for any fancy do.
Step 1
Start by prepping your skin with moisturizer. Once your skin is smooth and hydrated, apply a medium to full coverage foundation to even out your complexion and cover up any areas of unevenness with concealer. Avoid very dewy/shimmery/high SPF foundations as they dont translate well in flash pictures.
Step 2
Use a concealer to cover up under eye pigmentation. Dark circles can look even more prominent when you use eyeliner, so first camouflage the under eye area with a brightening concealer. Liquid concealers blend much better with a natural finish so pick a liquid instead of a stick concealer.
Step 3
Set your foundation and concealer with a light dusting of pressed or loose powder. Avoid powders with high SPF or zinc oxide/titanium oxide content as that can give a white flashback in pictures.Eating a couple of walnuts daily will not just keep you mentally agile but will also improve your skins overall texture thanks to an essential mineral copper that improves collagen production. It also contains B-vitamins and antioxidants that reduce free radical damage and prevent wrinkles.
Step 4
For the cheeks, pick a neutral tone/earthy rose tone blush as that goes best with a deep lip. Avoid a bright color as that can compete with the bold lip color for attention
Nykaa recommends: Maybelline Cheeky Glow in Creamy Cinnamon and L'Oreal Paris True Match Blush in True Rose.

Step 6
For the eyes, sweep some gold eye shadow all over the lids. Then line the upper lash line with black liner and apply two generous coats of volumizing mascara. Make sure to apply a little brown liner/eye shadow on the lower lash line as well to frame the eyes.
Step 7
Line your lips with a deep red lip liner and fill in the entire lip area with the lip liner. This will act like a base for your lipstick and prevent bleeding or smudging. In my experience the Lakme 9-to-5 Lip Liner in Red Alert works with most red lipsticks.
The star of the look is the deep, rich lip color. Pick a shade that works best for your skin tone. Avoid very deep brownish tones as they make your complexion look dull and washed out. Pick a shade that has a red tone, Of course if you love reds then you simply cant go wrong with any of the seven divine reds from the new Pure Reds collection from LOreal Paris.
