I am tired of telling myself that this year I am going to fit into my skinny jeans from 2019, but pre-pandemic me was very different from what she is today. I have realised that goals like these are not only unattainable but also de-moralising. Hence, this year, I convinced the Beauty Book team to keep ourselves in check with micro-resolutions that are actually achievable and (successfully) doable. These resolutions are low-effort and great for your hair and skin, so if you want to feel inspired before the new year starts, read ahead for some kick-ass ideas.
Gizelle’s Curl Training
“The end of 2024 has just been insane with festivals, weddings, and end-of-year parties. Even though I enjoyed and made the most of it, my hair suffered a lot due to heat styling and excessive use of products. I also bleached and coloured my hair earlier this year, which has led to its own set of damages. I have naturally curly hair, and now that I am done with all the events, I am going to curl-train my hair again into its natural pattern. 2025 is going to be all about hair care for me and bringing back my curls to their naturally bouncy selves. I have been using the Moxie Beauty Curly Routine Kit and plan to continue this but with regular detangling, twisting, and scrunching.”
Gauravee’s Recovery Ploy
“I don't know about you, but I'm *not* feeling 22…even though I just turned 22. In the process of becoming a corporate girlie and an independent baddie this year, I let my skin fall through the cracks (guilty). But 2025 is going to be me juggling all the same responsibilities with great skin. I am going to adopt and maintain a simple CSMS routine with uncomplicated products and focus on hydration. I am also planning on reversing my sunken eye bags and increasing my water intake with a new pink bottle.”
Drishti’s Pamper Sessions
“I have a regular CSMS routine for my dry skin, but I want to take it to the next level with a few more products in the mix. Up until now, I have been working on repairing my skin, but now I feel confident enough to elevate that routine with some pampering essentials. I plan to start oiling my hair regularly to combat dryness and reduce breakage. For my face, I plan on using a hydrating mask once a week to allow my skin to rejuvenate.”
Divya’s Sculpting Routine
“My face has been looking too puffy these days, and something that I have been meaning to start indulging in is face sculpting with a gua sha and a face-roller. It is great for improving blood circulation, reducing puffiness, amazing for lymphatic drainage, and relaxing the muscles. I have used a gua sha before, but I want to make it a part of my everyday PM routine. Along with all the other benefits, it wouldn’t hurt to get even a semblance of a jawline (win-win).”
My De-Tan Therapy
“This year I want to change the definition of skin to more than just my face, my body has not been receiving any tender loving care from me, and some pampering is quite overdue. I am going to start incorporating a body scrub in my everything-shower routine to help remove my tan. This way I can exfoliate my skin and also indulge in a relaxing affair.”
We hope you felt inspired by our beauty writers and their achievable, doable, micro-resolutions for 2025. Step into the new year with small changes that can have a huge impact on your skin, hair, and body.
