This Winter/Festive edition of Lakmé Fashion Week was phenomenal. Old school beauty classics danced a waltz with new age marvels. Tried and proven winners like dewy skin, draping and smoky eyes jostled for centre stage with new age artistry like glitter freckles, petal eyes and neon liners, though it’s safe to say that the good ol’ trends were taken a notch higher.
While we loved many of the beauty looks on display, we went scouting the frantic backstage to cull out some #FestiveMakeupGoals. And trust us, whether youre attending a Diwali party or a cocktail function, these are totally on trend, easy to recreate and look simply stellar. Heres our festive beauty roundup coming right up.
The Shimmery Smokey Eye
Tara Sutaria rocked a sleek middle parted ’do with a classic black smoky eye with a twist we loved! With an overall nude makeup and bushy, bushy brows, the glitter gave it just the modern spin the look needed. And BTW, glitter all over the lid.

The Aquamarine Lower Lash
Fitness guru Shilpa Shetty gave us our favorite #SundayBinge look. Besides her signature hair, voluminous lashes, perfectly contoured face and gorgeous smile, the (extended!) aquamarine liner on the lower lash line changed the game for us.

The Glowing Indian Goddess
This one is enough to get brides-to-be or even bridesmaids inspired. Let’s just say that the traditional bride became a mythical, glowing goddess. This is the OG. We love the simplicity of a neatly tied bun with a gajra, nude lips, warm eyeshadow and a nathini. And well, this is what we call, acing the glowy base.

Holographic Overload
For those who love a dewy base and think dousing themselves in highlighter is ultimate nirvana, check out this look. Holographic cut crease (you can just use a silver shadow or steel eyeliner for a similar effect), gloss on the lip, wet hair all at once. Heres proof that it can look incredible. Pro tip: Just remember not to overdo anything else. No jewellery, no poppy lips. I bet youll get heads to turn.

Understated Magic
We understand some of us like a no-makeup makeup look. And why not? Itll never go out of fashion. The trick is to look very well groomed for starters. Well tamed eyebrows, flawless skin and separated eyelashes. Then top with a natural flush of color on the cheeks and a muted, nude lip.

Modern Artistry
This one lavishes some extra attention on the highest points of your face. Stroke on lashings of metallic highlighter in gold or silver. If youre open to experimentation, this is great to test the waters. Just even out your skin tone with a matte foundation and pull out your trusty highlighter. A bit of practice is nuff to nail this one.
